Our Mascot
The Mindful Stage Theater's mascot is a chameleon named Cameron. Cameron represents our theater because chameleons are constantly changing color; in our sense, feelings. Not only are our feelings always changing, but in the theater world, they represent transformation, adaptation, and playing different roles.
Our Mission
The Mindful Stage Theater's mission statement is to offer an organization where we teach others how to be mindful through acting and animals while learning to master mindful living with theater. In more detail, our purpose is to teach others to be mindful and to understand and believe in mindfulness. We do understand that the word 'believe' may most likely lead to 'religion,' and that is not exactly true. Mindful practice is not a 'religion' but a solution to healing this world. We know this may sound sketchy and unbelievable, but our goal is to help you understand mindfulness and, more importantly, practice it. We do, in fact, take into consideration that "oh, mindfulness is too hard and impossible." We will just straight up tell you that that is just your mind trying to take over. In order to have success in teaching you mindfulness, we incorporate animals and theater. Animals are a great way to achieve the mindfulness goal because they help smooth anxiety and calm our minds and bodies. On the other hand, theater is a great way to accomplish this 'hard' goal because we're able to express ourselves, and no one can laugh at or make fun of you.
